This was our first time at Gibsons. This is surprising as we have been to many of the other steak houses. The place is hopping and that gives it a cool feel. The host had great service. She explained our wait and what table and then walked over to get us when it was ready. The server was nice but she seemed rushed. She checked all the boxes but just felt like she was doing her best to get all her tables taken care of. We both got steak and ordered a few sides. My husband got the NY strip and I got a small filet. He is strip was great. Cooked perfect. My filet was just ok. I expected more from what I had heard and the prices. It wasn't the best shape/cut so even though I ordered it medium the middle was medium rare and the sides were more medium well. The flavor was good but the cook wasn't great, I think it was because it was more of an end piece of the tenderloin. We ordered the hash browns, double cooked potato, 1/2 asparagus and 1/2 mushrooms. The star of our table was the double cooked potato. It was AMAZING! I highly suggest this. We didn't do desserts because we wanted the chocolate moose pie but it is the size of a football so was too much for 2 people. It looked so good tho - the table next to us seemed to love it! We would go back but I think I would either switch to the NY strip or try one of their fish dishes.

We always love it here and today I came for lunch with a very dear friend. The food was great as always however our server Dan made the experience even better. As a restuarant owner I can only dream of finding such a wonderful attentive server. Thanks Dan!

A great goto lunch spot at in the bar of course. Favorite is sliders but everything is really good. One of the best cheeseburgers in town

Amazing food. Best double baked potato I've ever had. Must try their seafood tower items! Can't go wrong w the classic ribeye!! Don't forget the macadamia and carrot cake desserts. Love this place and location will definitely be back again! 10/10

From an ambiance standpoint, I can't believe how huge this place is. It seemed to go on forever. We went in the Monday before Christmas and it was absolutely jampacked. Took about 20 minutes delay for us to get seated for our 6:15 reservation. We ordered the prime rib, a miso glazed Chilean Seabass, plus cream spinach and twice baked potato as a side. I was pleased that they had a $12 glass of Cabernet Sauvignon. Beer was $9. Total bill about $200, so fair according to Chicago steakhouse prices.

This was my second time experience at Gibsons. It's been many years and this was at lunch. First was at dinner in New Years eve about 6 years ago. We made our boys dress up but found out once we got there lunch is less dressy. Knowing where we were going forgot it is valet only. We are not valet kind of people so we parked a little bit away and walked in. Plenty of room but did reserve a table for a birthday. Music was in when we got there and satellite must have gone off shortly after. So that was a little odd. This is such a busy restaurant. There are some things that need updating. Maybe time to paint and redo some accessories. A few mini lampshades were crooked and incant help myself but be bothered -lol. Waiter staff was amazing!! Professional, prompt and so friendly. Never had to think about asking for water and got more bread easily. Onto the food. 5 stars. Crapcake app was delicious. Moist, crunchy outside. Large: so we cut into 4 to share. Loved the sauce. Brussel sprouts: maple and bacon. Win I got the halibut special. Nice big piping hot, cooked just right. Beyond satisfied. My husband and son got the filet. Both were very happy. Then other son got the steak sandwich. He did not talk which means it's teenager approved. A stack of fries to share. Love Gibsons/ Hugo's fries always. Fresh but, thin fried on the max which is always a win. Overall love this place. Not a place we frequent but great for milestones.

Gibsons is always a great go to when you want a no frills meal that will be cooked properly. We were given a choice of sitting inside or outside with the heaters, and we should have chosen outdoor seating. Indoors was crowed and loud, but that's the ambiance and charm of the place. Service was spot on, my water glass was never close to empty, we were very well taken care of and even got a complimentary crème brûlée for our anniversary! The whitefish was cooked perfectly, tasty and still moist. The prime rib was melt in your mouth delectable and the horseradish sauce was divine! Gibsons has been around for a while, and I don't see it going anywhere. The food is always well done and we always feel so well taken care of.
